Man Says Girlfriend Returned ₦250k Christmas Gift, Insulted Him, and Demanded ₦500k Before Accepting Him Back

A young man identified as Blessed Echidime has shared his painful experience after a disagreement with his girlfriend over money reportedly turned their relationship sour during the Christmas period.

According to his account, he transferred ₦250,000 to his girlfriend as Christmas money. To his shock, she allegedly sent the money back, telling him that the amount was too small and could not buy anything meaningful for her. She reportedly told him that even her hair alone costs more than that amount.

Blessed said he has been supporting her financially on a monthly basis, but explained that his business has been slow recently and he pleaded with her to manage with him for the time being. Instead of understanding his situation, he claimed that his girlfriend began insulting him and calling him different names.

He said matters escalated when she stopped answering his phone calls. Worried and confused, he decided to visit her at her residence — a house he claimed he personally rented for her. On getting there, he alleged that she refused to allow him into the apartment.

According to him, she issued a firm ultimatum, saying that unless he sends her ₦500,000, she would no longer have anything to do with him.

Blessed described the situation as heartbreaking, saying he feels deeply hurt and emotionally drained by the way he is being treated despite his efforts and support. He said he is confused and does not know how to make her understand his current financial struggles.

He has now cried out publicly, seeking advice on how to handle the situation and whether the relationship can still be saved.
