The lady, who narrated her story in detail, said she was with her boyfriend for seven years, from 2015 until 2022. She explained that although they had the usual relationship problems, they were managing them together and she was deeply in love with him. He was her first love, and she believed he would be her last. At the time they started dating, she was only twenty-two years old and a virgin.

She revealed that she went through several pregnancies during the relationship which ended in abortions. Later, she opted for family planning to avoid further complications. According to her, she had dreams of furthering her education, but her boyfriend discouraged her. He told her that if she went to the university, other men would disturb her, and instead advised her to learn fashion design. Out of love and loyalty, she obeyed him.
Her parents were not wealthy, but her father supported her through fashion school. After completing her training in 2018, her father also provided her with a container and all the necessary equipment to start a business. By that time, her boyfriend had completed school and was doing his national service.
The young lady said her business was booming and she was making money, but her boyfriend demanded money constantly and took everything she earned. She gave it to him willingly, as she had no personal needs and believed in supporting him.
In 2020, tragedy struck when her father died, and in 2021, her mother also passed away after suffering convulsions. She was devastated by these losses and at the same time, her boyfriend was cheating on her. She said she was unstable, broken, and struggling to cope with the pain of losing her parents and his constant infidelity.
In late 2021, she gave her boyfriend 110,000 Ghanaian cedis. She explained that she rented out her parents’ room, added money from her business, and handed the huge sum to him because he claimed he wanted to start an agriculture business so they could finally settle down. After giving him the money, he disappeared without a trace.
She never heard from him until March 2022, when he suddenly appeared in her shop to beg for forgiveness. He gave excuses, saying he lost his phone and did not know what came over him. She said she had lost a lot of weight during that period because of grief and heartbreak, but eventually forgave him and allowed him back into her life.
Despite all that, the money she gave him was gone, and she had to start feeding and supporting him again. He even moved into her place for a while. Not long after, he secured a job, and things changed quickly. In August 2022, he packed his belongings and moved to a new place, promising to carry her along. But from the day he left, she never heard from him again. His phone was always off, and she did not know where he lived or worked.
Later in December 2022, she met one of his friends and managed to get his new phone number. When she called him, he told her plainly that he had moved on and was even preparing to get married to someone else. He told her to also move on and stop trying to find him. She broke down in tears and could not believe it. He blocked her calls and ignored her messages.
Still looking for closure, she narrated her story one day to one of her older workers in the shop, but pretended it was another person’s story. The worker responded bluntly that if she were in that position, she would have ended the man’s life so that he would not live to enjoy what he took away.
Those words sank deep into her mind, and she admitted that they made her realise how much pain she was carrying. She said she could not stop thinking about it. She confessed that she carefully planned what to do. She lured her boyfriend back with the only thing he always wanted from her — money.
When he came over, she poisoned him. That night, he went home and died.
She ended her confession by saying: *“He passed that same night, I heard.”*
The case has left many people shocked because of the long years of pain, betrayal, and emotional trauma that led to such a tragic decision.
