The woman, who runs a foodstuff and data business, narrated her experience on social media, explaining that a man walked into her shop and asked her to “call the madam of the shop.”
According to her post, she politely replied, “I am the madam here,” but the man insisted, asking her to call the landlady who owns the shop and sells there.
“Inside me, I said, ‘egbami o’ (God help me),” she wrote humorously. “I responded again saying, ‘Na still me.’”
The woman said the man was visibly confused before he finally bought what he needed. However, after making his purchase, he looked around and asked if the two children he saw were hers. When she confirmed, he appeared even more surprised.
“Wahala for we weh get small stature o,” she joked, referring to how her petite body size often makes people doubt her age and status. “Many don’t believe I have kids when they see me for the first time.”
Her post, which was shared alongside smiling photos of herself in her shop, quickly went viral as many social media users found the story both funny and relatable.
Several people flooded the comment section with laughter and supportive messages, saying they had faced similar experiences because of their youthful looks or small body size.
One user commented, “You’re doing well, madam. Let them keep underestimating you while you keep cashing out.”
This light-hearted story has warmed hearts online, serving as a reminder not to judge people’s capability or status by appearance.
