A Nigerian man based abroad has sparked reactions online after publicly accusing the mother of his child of using their son to extort money from him.

In a lengthy statement, the man explained that he dated the woman, identified as Esther, for three years while he was still living in Nigeria. According to him, she became pregnant for him about a month before he traveled abroad in search of better opportunities.

At the time, he said he was only 24 years old and not ready to start a family.

“I was a young man full of ambition and still struggling to build my future. I didn’t want a child at that stage,” he said.

He admitted that he asked Esther to terminate the pregnancy, but she refused despite repeated pressure from him. He also revealed that he had not planned to marry her and was already in love with another woman he considered more serious.

According to him, Esther stopped communicating with him after he disclosed his intentions.

“I was just a young boy having fun like my mates. I didn’t know she was taking the relationship that seriously,” he stated.

The man said he eventually left the country angry and cut off communication with her for more than a year. However, he later discovered that she had given birth to their son.

He said the news made him both excited and regretful, prompting him to reconnect with her family.

“I asked my parents to help me make things right with her family, and they accepted my apology and allowed me into my child’s life,” he explained.

Since then, he said he has been sending money regularly to support the child’s feeding, clothing, and other needs.

However, the man claimed that the financial requests from the child’s mother have become excessive.

According to him, the woman who once supported him during his difficult days has now changed.

“Almost every day there is one complaint or another asking for financial help,” he said.

He alleged that the amount of money he spends on the child now feels like the responsibility of a man raising several children.

The man also said he believes the mother is benefiting personally from the money he sends.

He claimed that her physical appearance has improved significantly over the past three years and suggested that the financial support he provides may be contributing to her lifestyle.

Because of the ongoing disagreements, the man said he has asked the child’s mother to allow their son to live with his parents instead.

However, he claimed she has refused to hand over the child.

He added that several family meetings have been held to resolve the dispute, but the issue remains unsettled.

In his message, the man also warned that he wants his son and the public to know his side of the story in case negative claims are made about him in the future.

“I want the world and especially my son to know that I tried to be in his life,” he said.

The father concluded by giving the child’s mother what he described as a deadline to reconsider his request for the child to live with his parents.

The situation has sparked debate online about parental responsibility, child custody, and the challenges that sometimes arise when relationships end but children are involved.
