Former United States President Donald J. Trump has announced that the U.S. military carried out a deadly strike against ISIS terrorists operating in Northwest Nigeria.
In a statement personally shared by Trump on his verified social media account, he said the operation was launched at his direction as Commander-in-Chief. According to him, the airstrikes targeted ISIS militants accused of violently killing innocent civilians, particularly Christians, at levels he described as extreme and unprecedented.
Trump stated that the attack followed earlier warnings he issued to the terrorist group, stressing that the United States would not tolerate continued violence against Christians. He added that the U.S. Department of War executed what he called “numerous perfect strikes,” emphasizing America’s military strength and capability.
He further declared that under his leadership, the United States would not allow radical Islamic terrorism to prosper. The former president praised the U.S. military for the operation and ended his message with a Christmas greeting, adding that more terrorists would be eliminated if the killings continued.
The announcement has sparked massive reactions across social media, especially in Nigeria, where insecurity linked to extremist groups has remained a major concern. Many Nigerians welcomed the development, expressing hope that it would weaken terrorist networks, while others called for broader international cooperation to address insecurity in the region.
Trump’s statement has continued to trend online, drawing global attention to the situation in Northwest Nigeria and the activities of ISIS-linked groups operating in the area.
