A 29-year-old married woman has shared her heartbreaking experience after discovering she was one month pregnant with an unplanned child — a situation that has turned her once peaceful marriage into a painful nightmare. According to her, she works as a secretary while her husband is an accountant. They have two boys aged four and one. When she found out about her pregnancy, she said she was initially happy and believed her husband was too, until his mother suddenly showed up after hearing the news.
“She came all the way from the village and started accusing me of setting her son back,” the woman said tearfully. “She said I keep getting pregnant because I don’t want him to progress in life.”
The woman said she tried to explain that she was already on contraception and that the pregnancy happened unexpectedly, but her mother-in-law refused to believe her. “My husband sat there quietly as his mother insulted and embarrassed me,” she recalled.
Later that night, she said her husband questioned her again about how far along the pregnancy was and told her that his mother made sense, adding that they already had enough financial responsibilities.

“I earn N100,000 monthly and sometimes more with commission. I also contribute to our home. He never complained before, so I was shocked by his sudden change,” she said.
