A 32-year-old married woman has taken to social media to share her worries and frustration over her neighbour’s growing closeness to her husband. According to her, she and her husband are the same age, with her being only four months older. Her husband works in a bank and usually closes by 3:30 p.m., while she owns a boutique which keeps her very busy. Their neighbour, a 25-year-old single mother who works as a nursery school teacher, usually closes work earlier in the afternoon.
Because of her busy schedule, she and her husband had made an arrangement to pay this neighbour extra money to bring their daughter home from school since the neighbour also teaches there. At first, it seemed like a perfect arrangement. The neighbour was friendly, helpful and always willing to assist. But recently, things started to change.
The woman said she noticed that her neighbour was now doing things she considered inappropriate, such as cooking for her husband, doing his laundry, plaiting their daughter’s hair and even helping him with office work. She explained that her daughter is becoming more attached to the neighbour, while her husband no longer behaves the way he used to.
Before now, whenever there was a disagreement in their marriage, the woman said she would refuse her husband certain privileges, and he would always come back begging for her forgiveness. But now, things have changed. Instead of her husband begging, she finds herself being the one to beg. She said her husband no longer shows the same level of desire towards her, something that scares her deeply.
The breaking point came when she returned home earlier than usual one afternoon and found her husband eating food from her neighbour’s flask, even though she had prepared a pot of soup for him that morning.
The woman said she is heartbroken and confused. She admitted that she feels like her neighbour has become a second wife in her home. She is now asking for advice on how best to confront the situation, fearing that things could get worse if left unchecked.
Her story has drawn mixed reactions, with many urging her to have an honest conversation with her husband, while others advised her to address the issue directly with her neighbour.
