The woman, Nani Chianise, wrote on Twitter that Izu harassed her. But later, people found out she only made the story up because Izu did not return her feelings. She wanted a relationship with him, but he did not feel the same way.
After her post, many people on social media became angry at Izu. They insulted him, dragged his name online, and even his job was taken away. He became ashamed, lonely, and broken.
Izu tried to explain himself, but nobody believed him. Before ending his life, he wrote online about how much pain he was going through. Soon after, he used a gun and killed himself.

A few days later, the same woman came back online and admitted she lied. She said Izu never raped her, never even touched her. She only accused him because she was angry after they argued. She posted a public apology, but by then, Izu was already dead.
Her false story destroyed Izu’s life and future. His name was finally cleared, but he was gone. While she lost her own job and faced online shame, she did not face any known punishment from the law.
This sad story shocked many Nigerians and Americans. It showed how false accusations and online bullying can destroy lives. People continue to remember Izu as a young, talented man whose dreams were cut short.
