Popular Nigerian prophet, Chukwuemeka Ohanemere, widely known as Prophet Odumeje, has revealed the reason he does not collect tithe from members of his church.
The Anambra-based preacher, who is well-known for his dramatic style of ministration, made this known while addressing his congregation recently. Odumeje said that his main purpose as a man of God is to show people that God truly exists and not to make money from church members.
In his words, he said,
“Look at a young fresh man like me. I will come here and be deceiving people? I do not do church for money. Nobody pays me tithe. I am doing church to prove to you that Christ is real. That is my mission. When I finish my job, I will leave the same way Prophet Emmanuel TB Joshua left…”
Odumeje’s statement has stirred mixed reactions online. Many people praised him for his honesty and unusual stand, while others wondered how he runs his church without tithes and offerings.
A social media user, @Godswill-aki, wrote: “Protect this man at all cost. Better than your favourite pastors. That is pure gospel he is preaching.”
Another person, @Obiageli, asked: “Really? But it is biblical, so how do you run the church?”
@Ambrose Mark💯♥️ added: “God will continue to protect you sir 🙏🙏🙏.”
Odumeje, who is often called ‘Indaboski Bahose’ by his followers, has always stood out among Nigerian preachers for his controversial miracles, unique prophecies and bold statements.
The video of him rejecting tithe has continued to trend, with many people saying it is a wake-up call for some modern churches that focus too much on money.
Whether people agree with him or not, Prophet Odumeje says he will keep doing his work to prove that God is real, with or without tithe payments.
