Female Corps Member Apologises After Death Threats for Criticising Lagos State |
A corps member, Miss Ushie Rita Uguamaye, has apologised to Lagosians after facing death threats for her comments about Lagos State. She had claimed that the state "smells" and her remarks led to a strong reaction.
Previously, Temidayo Ajayi, who works as President Bola Tinubu’s media aide, said that the corps member, who also called his principal a "terrible" leader, should be executed by hanging or firing squad.
Miss Uguamaye had accepted an invitation from the National Youth Service in Lagos State after her social media post criticising President Tinubu’s administration went viral. However, no one came to see her because the Local Government Inspector, who had invited her, reportedly did not show up.
After returning, Miss Uguamaye posted a video on TikTok using the handle @talktoraye.
In the video, she tearfully explained her frustration over the rising cost of goods in Nigeria and expressed her anger towards the government.
She described President Tinubu as "terrible" and accused the administration of ignoring the economic hardships faced by citizens.
The emotional post quickly caught the attention of many, and the National Youth Service Corps board also responded to the incident.
Following the backlash and the threats she received, Miss Uguamaye has now apologised for her comments.
