Entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. Jane Kimani has shared her thoughts on a key issue she believes is affecting marriages today. She said that many women fail to share their money with their husbands, which harms their relationships.
Dr. Kimani, CEO of Pointers Global Consultants, recounted her personal experience to emphasize her point. She revealed how she supported her husband when he lost his job shortly after their marriage.
“My husband lost his job shortly after we got married, and I didn’t tell my parents. I hawked tights and sold omena (small fish). I covered his honor, and we’ve been together for 20 years,” she said.
She added, “The problem with today’s woman is that they hide their small money from their husbands.”
Her story has sparked a heated debate online, with many applauding her sacrifices while others shared their own views on modern relationships:
Alexandra Abrah: “You married for love, thinking of a better future. Congratulations. Today, many marry for money to escape poverty.”
Mark Osaze: “God bless this woman. Her sacrifices will not go unnoticed.”
Alika John: “Isn’t this what marriage is about? If she had lost her job, wouldn’t her husband have cared for her? This is why God created marriage.”
Onibonoje: “Some women hide money from their husbands, thinking they’ve ‘made it.’ If they had more, they might leave their husbands entirely.”
Dr. Kimani’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and sacrifice in marriage. As she said, it’s not just about money but about building a strong foundation together.
