A tanker loaded with gasoline burst at Ijora Palette Junction alongside Lagos State Homes Estate on Thursday, causing fear in the Ijora Badiya region of Lagos state.
The explosion happened around 1:30 p.m., according to NAN. Passers-by, according to eyewitnesses, saw the tanker was leaking and alerted the driver to the problem.
Before it detonated, the driver apparently climbed down and attempted to use a fire extinguisher.
In the meantime, firemen and police officers from the Ijora Badiya Police Division have been dispatched to the area to protect the safety of people and property.
They were ultimately able to extinguish the fire.
It was discovered that no one was killed in the accident.
Since then, the police have diverted traffic from the route in order to avoid traffic jams and hoodlums assaulting unarmed residents.
