Must Read
A deeply disturbing story has emerged from a pregnant woman who says she is being haunted by her late best friend just days after her death, leaving her confused, terrified, and questioning her own sanity.
The woman, who is seven months pregnant, shared her emotional ordeal, explaining that her best friend, Berlice, passed away last week after a brief illness. According to her, their bond went beyond friendship—they were like sisters who had been inseparable since childhood.
“She shared her food with me when I had nothing,” the woman recalled tearfully, describing the depth of their connection and how devastating the loss has been.
Due to her pregnancy, she was strongly advised by her husband, a medical doctor, and her mother not to travel to the village for the burial. They cited concerns about her health and the condition of the road. Though reluctant, she obeyed their advice and stayed behind—something she now fears may have angered her late friend.
Two nights after the burial, at exactly 1:00 AM, the woman claims she received a phone call from her deceased friend’s number. Shocked and trembling, she answered the call.
“All I heard was heavy, cold breathing,” she said. “Then a voice whispered, ‘Caro... why didn’t you come to get me? It’s so cold here. This metal bed is too cold.’”
The call ended abruptly, leaving her in panic. She initially tried to dismiss it as a prank, but the situation escalated the following morning.
While preparing tea, she said she noticed wet, barefoot footprints on the floor leading from the front door straight into her baby’s room—despite the door being firmly shut the previous night. Inside the room, she claims she found a blue gown neatly placed on the baby’s bed—a gown she had gifted her late friend years earlier.
Terrified, she questioned the house security guard, who insisted no one had entered the compound overnight. However, his response added another layer of fear.
“He asked why I was standing on the balcony at 3:00 AM, crying and talking to myself,” she recounted. “But I never left my bed that night.”
The strange occurrences did not stop there. The woman described another chilling experience while standing in front of a mirror.
“I saw a shadow pass behind me. I heard someone crying softly. Then I felt a cold hand touch my stomach,” she said. “My baby started kicking violently, like he was trying to escape.”
Despite her distress, her husband has dismissed her experiences as hallucinations caused by pregnancy-related stress, offering medical reassurance rather than belief in the supernatural.
Now living in fear, the woman says she is torn between believing she is being visited by her late friend or losing her grip on reality.
“I don’t know what to think anymore,” she said. “Is she coming for me… or my baby?”
The incident has sparked mixed reactions among those who have heard her story, with some attributing it to spiritual forces, while others believe it may be psychological, linked to grief, fear, and the physical and emotional changes of pregnancy.
Experts often note that intense grief, hormonal changes, and anxiety during pregnancy can lead to vivid dreams, hallucinations, and heightened fear responses. However, in many cultures, especially in rural communities, such experiences are sometimes interpreted as spiritual encounters.
As the woman continues to seek answers, her story raises questions about the intersection of belief, mental health, and the unexplained.
