Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved a ₦50,000 transport and lunch allowance for each of the 33,461 applicants who participated in the state’s recent Computer-Based Test (CBT) recruitment exercise.
The governor announced the decision in a post on his official Facebook page, where he thanked the applicants for taking part in the recruitment process and for trusting his administration’s commitment to fairness and equal opportunity. He said the allowance was meant to support the participants and appreciate their effort during the exercise.

Some applicants joked about how they planned to spend the allowance, while others urged the government to ensure the payment reaches everyone involved in the exam.
A Facebook user, Ofonime Eyop, expressed excitement and humorously noted how he already planned to spend the money, saying he would send part of it to his partner for Christmas and use the rest for personal needs. Another commenter, Sunday Ezekiel, said the gesture showed that the state was financially stable and appealed for fairness in distributing the allowance.
