According to her account, she had travelled to the city to buy items for her small street business — a hustle she depends on to support her education. On her way back home, she entered a shared taxi that already had four other passengers inside.
Everything seemed normal at first, but the journey soon turned into a nightmare.
“When we reached a quiet, isolated area, they suddenly demanded that I hand over my phone and mobile money password,” she said. “They withdrew all the money from my account, took my goods, and collected every cash I had.”
The student explained that when she tried to resist, they forcefully pushed her out of the vehicle — even while it was still moving at high speed.
“I begged them not to harm me, but they didn’t listen. They threw me out of the moving car,” she recalled tearfully.
She sustained bruises and minor injuries but is grateful to be alive.
“One of them even boasted that he had been arrested more than ten times and always came out free. They warned me not to report the case to the police and threatened to deal with me if I did,” she added.
Despite the trauma and loss, the brave young woman expressed deep gratitude to God for sparing her life.
“Please, help me thank this good God. I lost everything, but I am still breathing. I am just grateful and thankful to be alive,” she said.
She also urged others, especially students and traders who use public transport, to be cautious and always alert.
Her story has since gone viral online, drawing sympathy and support from many who praised her strength and survival while calling on authorities to do more to protect innocent commuters from such criminal gangs.
