A married man has opened up about the growing tension in his home after his wife repeatedly refused to be intimate with him, claiming she feels uncomfortable because his mother and younger sister live with them in the same room. According to the man, who shared his story anonymously, his mother and sister came to stay with him and his wife a year ago after his wife gave birth. What was supposed to be a short visit has now turned into a permanent stay, and the situation has caused emotional strain in their marriage.
He explained that their living arrangement is quite tight — they all share a single room. While he, his wife, and their baby sleep on the bed, his mother and sister sleep on the floor.
However, his wife has refused intimacy, saying she feels shy and uncomfortable knowing that his family members are in the same space.
“I have tried several times to touch her at night, but she always pushes my hand away,” he said. “She says she feels embarrassed and fears that my mom and sister might hear us. I have begged her, told her she doesn’t need to make noise, but she still refuses.”
The man said he even discussed the issue with his mother and sister, and both told him they did not mind if the couple were intimate while they were in the room.
“My mother said it doesn’t bother her, and my sister even laughed about it, saying it’s normal,” he added. “But my wife still refuses. I’m beginning to think she just wants my family to leave.”
He explained that since the birth of their child, they have only been intimate three times, and most of those times happened outside their home.
The husband said he feels trapped between his wife and his family, as his mother and sister have nowhere else to go.
“I cannot send them away. My mother raised me and my sister alone after my father passed. She’s all I have,” he said emotionally. “But this issue is breaking my home.”
The man said he is now seeking advice from others on how to handle the situation without hurting either his wife or his family.
The case has sparked online debate, with many people suggesting that the husband should prioritise his wife’s comfort and privacy, while others argue that the wife should be more understanding given the couple’s limited living space.
