A young mother, identified as Robyn Bella, has shared a deeply painful story about how her 5-year-old daughter, Elzanne, suddenly lost her life after eating what seemed like ordinary crisps from a familiar local vendor. According to Robyn, it all started like a normal morning. She woke up early to do her chores before electricity went off at 10 a.m. Her daughter, little Elza, was in the room watching cartoons on her phone. Later, Robyn saw some boys in the street eating crisps from a nearby elderly woman’s stall — a vendor they had trusted for years.
Thinking the woman had started selling again, Robyn sent a boy in their yard to buy four packets, and her daughter went along. They came back with two red packets and one yellow packet. Robyn kept them aside while she prepared breakfast.
After breakfast, she and her children sat down and enjoyed the crisps together. “I even asked her if she didn’t notice the stale taste, but she said no,” the mother said. They then washed their hands and lay down to rest since the power was gone.
An hour later, Robyn woke up and asked Elza to bring her phone. Her daughter replied that she wanted to go pee, but moments later, she began to cry in pain. “She said, ‘Mummy, I can’t feel my legs,’” Robyn recounted tearfully.

Her brother prayed for the little girl as she cried, but moments later, she went quiet. They rushed her to Pola Park Clinic, but sadly, Elza was declared dead on arrival.
“The nurses said my child had consumed a large amount of harmful substance. It was not food contamination — it was poison,” the devastated mother said.
