According to officials who visited the orphanage, they went there after receiving several reports about children being maltreated in the place. What they saw confirmed the complaints. Many of the children had visible injuries that were allegedly inflicted on them. They also looked malnourished and weak, with some showing signs of stunted growth due to poor nutrition.
At the time of the officials’ visit, it was already 11 o’clock in the morning, yet the children had not eaten anything that day. The food kept aside for them was a watery pap that could hardly be called a meal. Meanwhile, in the same house, there was enough food stockpiled, but the children were left hungry.
One shocking discovery was that the son of the supposed owner of the orphanage looked healthy and well-fed, while the orphans under the same roof appeared starved and neglected. The clear difference between the woman’s son and the orphans has raised serious questions about her intentions for running the orphanage.
Many Nigerians are now accusing the woman of opening the orphanage not out of compassion but only to receive donations from kind-hearted people, which she allegedly diverts to care for her own children. This revelation has left the public furious and calling for immediate action against her.
The video, which has continued to circulate, has moved many to tears. Viewers say no child deserves to suffer such neglect, especially in a place that is supposed to be a safe home.
Officials are expected to take further steps to protect the children and investigate the management of the orphanage. Meanwhile, the story has sparked nationwide anger, with many demanding that those responsible must face the law.
