In August 2024, the founder of the KAA Foundation made a promise to support Dorathy’s education with a monthly payment of N50,000 for one year. The support was to come in recognition of her courage and determination to earn an honest living despite challenges.

At the start, the foundation fulfilled the promise by sending her N150,000 to cover the first three months. Later, another N150,000 was sent to cover another three months. This brought the total payment at that time to N300,000.

However, after those payments, the foundation paused. For several months, Dorathy received nothing further. During this time, she never once asked or reminded the foundation about the remaining balance of the pledge.

Instead, she continued to communicate with the foundation on other matters, but she carefully avoided bringing up money. According to the founder, her attitude showed patience and understanding, as she chose not to pressure the person who had made her the promise.

He said he silently watched her, admiring her calmness and the hard work she was putting into her life despite the challenges of working as a security guard while pursuing her education.

On the morning of September 25, 2025, the KAA Foundation surprised Dorathy by sending her a one-time payment of N300,000. This amount covered the remaining six months of the promised support, bringing the total payment to N600,000 for one year.

The foundation said it hoped the money would help her with her pressing needs and relieve some of the financial pressure as she continues her studies.

Dorathy has gained admiration from many Nigerians since her story became public last year. People have praised her for choosing honest work, even as a security guard, rather than taking easier but less dignified options to raise her school fees.

The KAA Foundation said Dorathy’s patience and dedication stood out and that her attitude had given many people a positive example of perseverance and strength.

This latest gesture from the foundation has been described as a moment of joy for Dorathy and a sign that her honesty and quiet determination have not gone unnoticed.
