She said she reached her breaking point on a Saturday morning. After preparing the children for the day and looking at her youngest child, a toddler girl called Amanda, she kissed her softly and prayed over her. But instead of starting the usual sweeping and cooking, she picked her bag and quietly left the house.
She went to her cousin’s home where she said she felt a peace she had not known in years. Her cousin, who lives alone with her children because her husband stays abroad, welcomed her, gave her food and later allowed her to work for pay by taking care of the house and the children. According to her, she is now considering staying away for one month to see how her husband will cope with handling the children alone.
