A young mother has come out to beg for help after her only son, who is just eleven months old, started suffering from severe stomach pain that has refused to stop. The worried mother, who said she is a first-time mum, shared her painful story online, saying she is tired, scared, and losing hope.
According to her, the baby’s problem started some time ago and each time it happens, his mood changes and his body becomes very hot, especially his head. She explained that the baby cries loudly in pain, bends his body, and pushes his tummy outwards when the pain starts.
The mother said she has taken her baby to the hospital more than three times already and spent a lot of money, but nothing seems to be working. The doctors ran tests like malaria parasite test, malaria test, and PCV (packed cell volume). All the results came back fine and the child tested negative for malaria, but the stomach pain did not stop.
She said the doctors gave her medicine to give her son, but he is not getting any better. The mother, who is clearly heartbroken, said she has not been able to sleep because she stays awake watching her child cry and twist in pain.
She said the doctor asked her to come back again for an abdominal scan to check what might be wrong inside his stomach, but she feels so tired and helpless already.
In her words, she said:
“I am a first-time mum, please I need your help because I do not want to lose my only son, please maybe I can get help here. It is about my eleven-month-old boy; he seems to be having stomach pain. Anytime it starts, his mood will change, and his body will start getting hot like fire, especially his head. I have been to the hospital more than three times; they conducted malaria parasite test, malaria test, and PCV. I have spent so much money already, but nothing seems to be working. Please, I am tired and losing hope and he is not responding to any of the prescribed hospital medicine that I am giving him. He is negative for malaria and the doctor told me the test results were okay, but there are no changes in him at all. Each time the pain starts, he will start crying so loud and pushing his abdomen forward with his body movement, and he will be bending. The doctor told me I should bring him to the hospital tomorrow again for an abdominal scan, but I am just tired.”
What has made her even more worried is her suspicion that someone might have done something bad to her child. The mum said she has a neighbour who used to come to play with her baby. She fears that the neighbour may have put something in the baby’s mouth, because they have had small quarrels before about how the neighbour acts carelessly with water in the compound.
She asked people if this could be a spiritual problem and begged for advice on what to do, as she does not want to lose her only child.
Many people who read her cry for help online have advised her not to give up yet. Some said she should go for the abdominal scan to see if there is any blockage or growth in the baby’s stomach. Others suggested that she should check for worms, food allergies, or any other hidden infections.
