The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a young woman, Aladi Offikwu Johnson, also known as Tessy, who was found unconscious and tied up in a hotel room on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, Abuja.
The sad incident happened on Monday, 16th June 2025. According to the police, Tessy had checked into the hotel with an unknown man. Hours later, hotel staff found her in a terrible state—unconscious, with her hands tied. She was rushed for medical help, but it was too late. Doctors confirmed she had already passed away.
A disturbing video of the scene started circulating online shortly after, causing fear and concern among many Nigerians.

Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh confirmed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Adewale, has ordered a full and discreet investigation. Officers are now working hard to find the man who checked in with her and uncover the full story behind her death.
The Police Command has urged the public to stay calm and promised that justice will be served. CP Adewale also gave a strong warning to young ladies to always be careful and let someone know where they are going or who they’re meeting, especially when checking into hotels or unfamiliar places.
Hotel owners were also advised to take security more seriously by verifying guest identities and ensuring CCTV cameras and other surveillance systems are working at all times.
The police sent their condolences to Tessy’s family and assured the public that they will continue to share updates as they gather more facts.
