What was meant to be a beautiful beginning has now turned into a tragic end.
A young newly-wedded couple have lost their lives in a horrible road accident just a few hours after getting married. The sad incident happened around 11:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, on the Gurugu road.
According to reports, the couple had just finished their wedding celebration and were heading to their new home — a rented apartment in Gurugu — to begin their honeymoon. They were filled with happiness, love, and dreams of a future together. But sadly, death came too soon.
The couple were riding on a motorcycle when they were hit by an unregistered vehicle, which was reportedly being driven by a group of Nigerians. The suspects immediately ran away after the crash, leaving the couple helpless and unconscious by the roadside.
The lifeless bodies of the couple were taken to the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue around 2:50 AM on Monday, June 23.
Friends, family, and community members are still in shock. A day that started with celebration has now ended in mourning. People who came to rejoice with the couple are now crying for their souls.
This heartbreaking story has raised serious questions about road safety and the need for proper traffic regulations, especially on busy roads like Gurugu. It also brings to light the dangers of hit-and-run drivers who continue to take lives and go unpunished.
