kidnappers killed a retired Nigerian Army Major, Pastor Joe Ajayi, even after his family paid a ₦10 million ransom.
The 76-year-old, who was also a respected church leader and former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kabba-Bunu, was abducted from his home in Odo-Ape, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area.
The gunmen stormed the community, firing shots for over an hour before taking Ajayi. They first demanded ₦50 million but later reduced it to ₦10 million when his health worsened in captivity. Sadly, Ajayi could not access his medication, which likely led to his death.
The family, hoping to save him, paid the ransom. But instead of releasing him alive, the kidnappers told them where to find his body. His remains were later taken to the mortuary at Kabba Specialist Hospital.
