A 32-year-old woman, Loveth Helen Alo, has been arraigned in an Enugu court after falsely claiming ownership of a multi-million naira five-bedroom duplex at WTC Estate, Enugu, during a testimony at Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos.
In a viral video, Alo testified that God had blessed her with the house, with images of the property displayed in the church. In another video, she allegedly claimed she purchased the house for N200 million.
Following a petition from a concerned citizen, detectives from the Enugu State Police Command arrested her on February 1, 2025.
Police spokesperson SP Daniel Ndukwe stated that Alo admitted to the crime during interrogation, confessing that she acted alone.
She was arraigned before the Enugu North Magisterial District Court on March 11, 2025, on a five-count charge, including obtaining by false pretence with intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to sell the property.
She was granted bail, and the case has been adjourned to April 9, 2025, for further hearing.
