- PDP Invites Goodluck Jonathan to Run for President in 2027
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has invited former President Goodluck Jonathan to contest for president in the 2027 elections.
The PDP’s deputy national publicity secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the party hopes Jonathan will return for a second term as Nigeria’s leader. He believes Jonathan’s comeback would be a good thing for both the party and the country.
Abdullahi also praised PDP’s role in producing some of Nigeria’s best leaders, like Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Dora Akunyili, Akinwunmi Adesina, and Amina Mohammed.
He warned Jonathan to be careful of the “hypocrisy” of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Abdullahi reminded Jonathan that the same people who criticized him in the past are now suddenly showing support for him.
Recently, posters of Jonathan running for president in 2027 were seen in Kano. The posters had messages like “The Goodluck Nigeria Needs—Dr. Goodluck Jonathan” and were designed by a group called “Team New Nigeria.”
This has made many Nigerians wonder if Jonathan is planning a return to politics.
