Former Information Minister, Jerry Gana, has dismissed claims that Aso Rock was filled with demons during President Obasanjo’s administration.
Gana said that during their eight-year stay in the villa, none of the cabinet members encountered any evil spirits. He was responding to a claim made by Reuben Abati, who once described the State House as a place of spiritual forces.
Gana, however, admitted that spiritual forces do exist, but joked that maybe “the demons were afraid of us” because they prayed daily at 6 a.m. for God’s wisdom and guidance. He emphasized that spiritual battles are real, but during Obasanjo's time, the environment was covered with prayers, making it safe for them.
"Who knows, maybe the evil spirits no just like our face that time," he humorously added, stressing that they relied heavily on divine intervention during their time in office.
He explained that even though they didn’t see any demons, the reality of spiritual forces is undeniable. According to him, it’s a matter of being aligned either with light or darkness.
