The 19-year-old, talented and popular DJ known as Commissioner DJ Wysei, is considering stepping away from her career as a DJ after years of painful challenges, both physical and emotional. In a heartfelt message posted on social media, DJ Wysei shared the story behind her decision to possibly hang up her headphones for good.
In her post, she explained that the turning point occurred on 22nd September, a date that now holds deep significance for her. Several years ago, on that same date, she suffered a terrible accident, falling from a two-story balcony. The collapse of the structure resulted in life-threatening injuries, and she was declared dead for hours before a miraculous recovery. This traumatic incident left her hospitalized for months and with severe injuries to her face, wrist, neck, leg, and teeth. She recalls how her siblings had to hide all mirrors from her during her recovery because of the stitches and scars. She admitted to fearing she would never feel beautiful again.
While DJ Wysei fought through this ordeal, the past year brought even more hardship. Another unfortunate incident left her with a dislocated shoulder, causing immense pain that she still endures. Despite doctors advising her to avoid any strenuous activity for six months to allow her shoulder to heal, she continued performing, often in a hand sling. Her commitment to her craft has come at a significant cost.
Now, the toll on her body has become too much. DJ Wysei expressed how performing has become painful, with her hands no longer functioning properly despite various treatments. "I perform and cry afterward," she admitted, revealing the emotional weight of pushing through her pain.
In her post, she reflected on her deep love for DJing, but the physical strain has made her question whether she can continue. Both hands have been affected by her injuries, leaving her with limited options. She shared how she has been contemplating quitting her DJ career, as it's become too painful to handle. DJ Wysei, however, remains grateful to God for preserving her life through all these trials and for the support she's received from friends and family.
In her message, DJ Wysei also paid tribute to her friend Chisom, who tragically passed away after the initial accident. She honored her memory, expressing sadness over the loss.
"From every wound, there is a scar, and every scar tells a story... A story that says I SURVIVED," she concluded, marking the 22nd of September as her "rebirth day."
DJ Wysei's emotional post has drawn an outpouring of support from fans, many of whom have urged her to prioritize her health and well-being. The future of her DJ career remains uncertain, but her resilience and strength through adversity continue to inspire many.
