In Bauchi State, two teenage boys, aged 15, were arrested for allegedly stealing 100 mobile phones and 75 music players from a phone store.
These sharp guys managed to get the shop key, waited for the owner to go to the village market, and repeatedly robbed the shop.
After selling the stolen phones at cheap prices (like N5,000 and N8,000), they spent the money on clothes, food, and a new smartphone. Unfortunately for one, his new phone was stolen too!
The Bauchi Police Command, through spokesperson Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the arrest after the shop owner filed a report. The investigation, led by CSP Kim Albert, led to the recovery of 21 mobile phones and other gadgets from the suspects.
These boys, students of Bakari Dukku Comprehensive Secondary School, confessed to the crime during interrogation. Now, they are awaiting further legal action and will be sent to a remand home for rehabilitation. Talk about ‘one chance’ thieves getting caught red-handed!
The Police continue to assure residents of their dedication to fighting crime in Bauchi State.
