The autopsy date has been contested by the family of Bamise Ayanwola, a late Lagos BRT passenger.
Pelumi Abegunde, the brother, spoke to reporters in Ikeja, Lagos State, on Friday.
He said that the police gave them a short notice because they received an invitation for the autopsy on Thursday on Wednesday.
"We turned it down because we didn't think we'd have enough time to witness it." Because we demand fairness, we deserve to bring our own pathologist."
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu spoke with Bamise's father on the phone, according to Abegunde.
Sanwo-visit Olu's to the family home, he added, would have soothed anxieties.
"I believe him, but he will not perform the autopsy; his employees will provide him with the report; he trusted them, but we don't."
Abegunde went on to say that even without an autopsy, the evidence was clear as to what caused Bamise's tragic death.
