According to Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur, Hauwa Liman, female business owner and Founder of Afrik Abaya 2015: “I have always been proud to say that I come from the first team of the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program. My business is located in Kaduna, northern Nigeria. I benefited from this program in 2015, and it opened many doors and opportunities. It is not just about the large amount of seed, but what fascinates me most about the Knowledge program.
I call it a small MBA program, because from the thinking stage it teaches you how to define your business, and gave me my first business plan. Network, visibility and opportunities are endless. My business experience would not be complete without the Tony Elumelu Foundation. I will start exporting soon thanks to the Foundation. We have now hired 10 full-time employees and eight others according to the commission. ”
Commenting on the launch of the 2022 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program, CEO of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Ifeyinwa Ugochukwu said, “We are always impressed by the level of business coming from Africa every year. This encourages us to intensify our efforts to develop more entrepreneurs on the continent.
The innovation, knowledge and resilience of African entrepreneurs are critical to shaping African socio-economic transformation and meeting the development goals of the continent.
We are also proud of the increase in the participation of women in our Program, especially with the 2021 group where we saw a record of 68% female entrepreneurship selection.
The founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation Trustee, Dr. A V. Elumelu said: “Through the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program, we want to make democracy a reality.
Hard work plays an important and undeniable role in success, but one should not underestimate the role of luck - someone who is willing to take advantage of you or a business idea by empowering you through training, mentoring or support.
We hope that, through the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship program, we will help the next business leader or industry captain become who he or she should be. This is our way of restoring and re-empowering the generation that comes after us to go further than us.
As a parent, your desire is for your children to do better than you and thus to provide them with the resources and resources they need to ensure they go a long way in life. Similarly, the Constitution equips the next generation with the tools we need to succeed. ”
As Africa's leading entrepreneur, Prudentj2 learnt that the Tony Elumelu Foundation empowers women and men across the African continent through entrepreneurship to promote economic growth, advance poverty eradication and ensure job creation. The Constitution is based on the philosophy of Africapitalism, which places the private sector as the key to creating economic and social prosperity in Africa. Through TEFConnect, the Foundation's digital platform, has provided skills building support, advice and market communication, to more than 1.5 million Africans.
