New reforms from the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have been conceived lately.
On Monday, the Federal Government was seen to inaugurate the National egg production (NEGPRO) scheme in Kogi, to boost the habit of poultry farming in the country.
The inauguration, however, was carried out in lokoja, as Mrs. Vivian Ibe, The National poultry desk officer, and department of animal husbandry services of the ministry, made this all clear.
In a press conference, Ibe made it clear that the scheme was targeted at creating prolific awareness, and boosting productions nationwide.
She said;
"The essence of the scheme is to create awareness aimed at strengthening egg production. It's market and utilisation capacity of poultry products in Nigeria"
Being a five-year arranged programme. The desk officer made further analysis, that the program has targeted at promoting economic development, income, livestock, and job opportunities, in the country.
However, the female National desk officer. Laid emphasis that the scheme was expected to produce about 500,000 table eggs daily for local consumption.
Including export and processing which could assist greatly in the confectionery and pharmaceutical industry.
In addition to the optimistic mindset of Ibe, following this new scheme. The state coordinator of the ministry, Shekumang Ayuba, expressed he hoped that the national egg production scheme would impact the States positively. Especially in the space of agriculture and as well create a valued source of income for farmers.
Other enticing and mouth-watering words were spoken by various members of NEGPRO at that event.
This inauguration, shows that our leaders are at the hedge and have expressed their readiness to implement this program in the state. Until the end goal is accomplished.
