YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN.
The first key for living a life that is pleasing to God is to prepare your body to be a home for God. That is what produces holiness. You don't just become holy because you want to be holy. The reason you want to be holy is because God is living inside you.
If you had your body to yourself alone, you would probably choose to do whatever you like with your body. But now he says, "you are not your own. he also says, flee sexual immorality.
1 Corinthians 6: 18 20.
18. free sexual immorality. everything that a man does is outside the body, but he who commit sexual immorality sins against his own body.19. or do you not know that your body is the Temple of the holy spirit who is in you, whom you have from God and you are not your own?20. for you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's.
Every other sin a man commits is outside his body, but sexual morality is the only thing that pollutes the house in which the man lives with God. you sin against yourself and against God who lives inside you when you commit sexual immorality.
The other sin can be offences against another person's house. If i pick a stone and smash your windscreen, what I have destroyed is your car, not my car, if I lose your tyre and sell it, I have committed an offence and cause damage on your car, not my car. If I carry some stinking rubbish from a refuse dump and throw them into your car, it is your car that will smell, not my car.
When you steal, it is another person that you hurt. when you lie against people it is another person that you hurt, and that is why it is an offence before God.
Don't mess up your house.
The man who get involved in a immorality messes up his own house. he goes to the smelling garbage bin and carries mess and dumps in his house.
The problem with this is that the person may choose to live like a pig and put up with the rubbish he has filled his house with. But God who lives in the house with him cannot put up with any such rubbish. God is a holy God and he is clean. He cannot live in a dirty environment. So the first key if you want to carry the presence of God is that you must prepare for him a body.
I am going to show you a scripture that changed my life many years ago the Holy Spirit in recent times has brought it back. Without the understanding God gave to me through this scripture, I wouldn't have been able to do what God has raised me to do.
The truth is that God hates sacrifices from hearts that are not yielded to him. He hates people working for him while their will is not yielded to him.
God wants to work through you.
Working for God and God working through you are two different things. The old testament was where men were working for God and doing things for him and He got frustrated. The New testament is where God works through people. It is God at work in you both to Will and to do. "for it is God which worketh in you both to Will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13.
you are not supposed to do your work or ministry by your strength. It will frustrate you. You should allow God to take over, and He will pull people to the business and to Himself.
When you let God in, people will be able to tell that you are performing beyond what you are ordinary capable of. They will be able to tell that there is something about what you are doing that is different. In the days of Christ's ministry on earth, those that heard him often said that he did not speak like one of the pharisees.
In like manner, when people observe what you are doing or when they listen to you, they will say that there is definitely something different about you and the way you do things. Like in the days of Jesus, they will note that you spoke and acted like one having authority.
The scripture that brought these things home to me is the one that says "Delight yourself also in the lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:3-5.
3. Trust in the lord, and do good; dwelling in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.4. Delight yourself also in the LORD, and he shall give you the desires of your heart.5. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in HIM, AND HE shall bring it to pass.
Conclusion.
When a man gets into Union with God there is nothing God cannot do for him. He causes resources to align with you. He spend his resources on you. This is like what a man does over a woman he loves.
