A Nigerian woman identified as Mrs. Meda has opened up about her painful experience in marriage, after catching her husband cheating in their matrimonial home while she was away caring for her sick mother. According to her, she had travelled to stay with her mother for a week but had to return earlier than planned because she needed to send some work documents by email. Upon arriving home unexpectedly, she was shocked to discover her husband with another woman in their bedroom.
“I came back earlier than I should, and behold, he was in there with a different lady,” she said tearfully. “Our kids are two, but I took the younger one with me and left the older one at home. The sad thing is, the lady had come to actually stay for the entire week I was away. She came with her belongings. My son was forced to call her auntie while she and my husband enjoyed themselves in our bedroom.”
Distraught and heartbroken, she said she immediately took her son and left the house. At that point, she wanted to end the marriage, but family members and friends intervened, advising her not to leave.
“Everyone kept saying, ‘All men cheat, so leaving doesn’t mean you’ll find a better man.’ After much begging, I decided to give him another chance. I have given him many chances already, and honestly, I’m tired,” she confessed.
However, when she returned home, she insisted on talking about the cheating incident to understand why he went that far. The conversation, she said, only deepened her pain.
“His excuse was that he was tired of having me alone every time,” she revealed. “He said he didn’t even enjoy it anymore and wanted to try someone else to ‘activate himself.’ He said he wasn’t happy within himself. When I asked why he would bring her into our bedroom, he didn’t have a good explanation.”
According to her, after days of argument, her husband proposed something shocking — that she should undergo Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and Tummy Tuck surgeries to look “more attractive” and “revive their love life.”
“He said he would sponsor it all,” she said. “He believes that if I do it, our marriage will be better and he won’t cheat again.”
Mrs. Meda said she initially refused, but since then, her husband has been angry and distant, insisting that her refusal is the reason they no longer have peace at home.
“He doesn’t understand why I won’t do it,” she lamented. “He keeps saying it’s what will make him stay faithful. But I’m scared. I’ve heard people go through serious complications after doing these surgeries. I don’t feel like I want to take that risk.”
The troubled wife said she is now confused and seeking a third-party opinion on whether to go through with the procedure just to save her marriage.
“I don’t know if I’m overreacting or just being scared,” she said. “Should I do it for him? Will it really stop him from cheating like he claims? I’m just tired. I don’t even know what to do anymore.”
Her story has since sparked strong reactions online, with many people criticising her husband’s behaviour and questioning why she should be pressured into changing her body because of his infidelity.
Health experts have repeatedly warned that procedures like BBL and tummy tuck carry high medical risks, especially when not performed in top medical facilities with proper care.
As of now, Mrs. Meda says she has not decided whether to go through with the surgery, but she fears that refusing could further damage her already fragile marriage.
“I feel trapped,” she concluded quietly. “I still love him, but I also love my life. I don’t know which one to choose.”
