Former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has denied viral reports claiming he had passed away in London. In a personal statement issued on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the former governor assured the public that he is in excellent health and urged Nigerians to disregard the rumour.
Obiano described the circulating reports as baseless falsehoods being spread by individuals whose motives remain unclear.
He said:
“I am alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health. By the special grace of God, I am doing very well.”
The former governor expressed disappointment that some people still derive pleasure from creating and circulating misinformation, but emphasized that he will continue to rise above such acts of mischief.
Obiano also extended gratitude to those who contacted him following the rumour.
“To everyone who reached out with calls, messages, and prayers, I sincerely appreciate your concern. Your love and goodwill mean more than words can express.”
He urged the public to completely disregard the reports and assured supporters that he remains focused and guided by God’s grace.
“We remain focused, grateful, and guided by God’s grace. Daalu nu, and may God bless you all.”
The statement was signed by Chief Willie Obiano, FCA (Akpokuedike), putting to rest the widespread speculations about his wellbeing.
