Tragedy as Childhood Friends from Jos Who Joined the Military Die 40 Days Apart

The two, identified as Hassan and Buhari, grew up together as neighbours and shared the same dream of serving their country in the military. They applied in the same year and were both successful—Hassan joined the Navy while Buhari joined the Army.

Sadly, Hassan lost his life about 40 days ago during an operation in Lagos. His friend Buhari was killed yesterday at the Nigeria–Cameroon border in Adamawa State while on duty.

The heartbreaking story was shared by Senator Shehu Sani, who described the two young men as devoted patriots whose lives were cut short while serving their fatherland.

“May their souls rest in peace,” he wrote.

The Nigerian Defence Academy also confirmed the tragic development on its official handle.
