According to a statement released on Wednesday night, September 24, the suspect is wanted for Violation of Conditions of Release after he fled the United States in December 2001. His escape came just days before his federal trial was scheduled to begin in the Central District of Illinois.
Adediran was facing several serious charges at the time, including Bank Fraud, Identification Document Fraud, and Credit Card Fraud. These charges point to his alleged involvement in financial crimes, which often involve organised efforts to cheat banks, businesses, and individuals of money.
The FBI explained that Violation of Conditions of Release happens when a person who has been granted bail or supervised release deliberately breaks the rules set by the court. In Adediran’s case, he was allowed to remain free before trial but chose to flee instead of facing the charges against him.
This action made him a fugitive and confirmed that he is a high flight risk, as he successfully avoided the judicial process for more than two decades.
Investigators say they are still determined to bring him to justice despite the long passage of time. The FBI has urged members of the public with any information about Adediran’s location to come forward immediately, assuring that all tips will be treated with confidentiality.
The agency has also warned that aiding or hiding a fugitive is a criminal offence, and anyone caught helping him will also face legal action.
The $10,000 reward is expected to encourage people who may know his whereabouts to provide information that will finally lead to his arrest and trial in the United States.
