In a statement signed by the company’s management on 31st August 2025, Dangote expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to Ruth’s family, friends, and loved ones. The statement noted that since the accident, the company’s officials and insurance partners had been supporting the family, covering all medical and financial expenses.
According to Dangote, arrangements had already been concluded to fly Ruth to India for advanced medical treatment once clearance was given by her doctors. Sadly, despite all these efforts, Ruth’s condition worsened, and she passed away before the transfer could happen.
This heartbreaking development has drawn strong emotions online, especially from fans of Phyna, who believe that without the loud public outcry from Verydarkman and other voices, Ruth’s case might not have received such urgent attention. Many Nigerians are now raising questions about how accident victims are often left to their fate unless someone influential speaks up.
Ruth Otabor was only a young woman with her whole future ahead of her, but her life was cut short. For her family, no amount of corporate condolence can fill the gap. For Nigerians, her death is another painful reminder that money and access decide who lives and who dies.
