A young woman, Excel Ukeredi Peace, has reportedly been murdered by her boyfriend in Sapele, Delta State.
According to reports, Excel had planned to end the relationship but was reportedly coerced to stay. In WhatsApp messages seen by THE POINT, Excel expressed concerns over red flags in her romance, revealing her desire to break up but fearing her boyfriend might retrieve the phone she used to communicate. She also confided that her boyfriend might refuse to let her end the relationship and asked a friend to check on her if she was offline or not seen publicly.
Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu disclosed that Excel was found dead in her room last week Thursday. The boyfriend has been arrested and detained at Sapele Police Station. Excel’s family has called for a thorough investigation, alleging attempts by the suspect to bribe his way out of justice.
Gwamnishu stated, “Last week Thursday, Excel Ukeredi Peace was allegedly killed by her baby daddy, who is currently detained at Sapele Police Station. Evidence suggests she wanted to end the relationship but was pressured to stay. The family demands justice from the Delta State Police Command.”
