There is serious tension in Gwagwaada, a community in Abuja, following the shocking arrest of a popular pastor, Amos Isah, the founder of Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry. This incident has left many people in disbelief, especially those who used to attend his church. Located behind Noble Noel Academy, directly opposite Gwagwaada Market, the church had grown popular in the area due to his style of preaching and regular claims of speaking with divine authority.
Before his arrest, Pastor Amos Isah was very active on social media, especially Facebook, where he regularly posted messages encouraging people to live holy lives. His page was full of spiritual advice and warnings against sin. This is why many people are shocked by the serious accusation levelled against him.

According to reports by SaharaReporters, the pastor’s last known church service was held on Wednesday, 18th June 2025. However, another service was conducted the following day, 19th June, but this time without him. Church members began to suspect something was wrong when he did not show up and efforts to reach him failed.
Sources from within the community say that Pastor Isah allegedly used his spiritual authority to take advantage of a 14-year-old girl, who trusted him. This has led to his arrest and detention by the FCID. A senior officer at the FCID confirmed to the media that the victim is indeed a minor and the case is being treated as a serious criminal offence.
However, things are getting more disturbing as there are claims that some police officers are trying to protect the pastor. It is being alleged that a few individuals are working hard to keep the news quiet and may even be pressuring the victim’s family not to speak up. Some say that the pastor’s position and influence are the reasons why the investigation is being done quietly.
This situation has raised many questions. How could someone trusted by so many people do such a thing? If the allegations are true, what kind of justice can a young girl expect in a system where powerful people can be protected?
Many Nigerians are reacting online, demanding transparency and justice. Some are calling for the pastor to be removed from every public religious role until investigations are fully completed. Others are urging the FCID and other law enforcement agencies to make sure the case is not buried, no matter who is involved.
As of now, the church building is still standing but remains unusually quiet. Regular church activities have slowed down, and members are confused about the way forward. Some faithful followers are still in denial, believing the arrest is a mistake or a spiritual attack on the man of God. But for many, this is a wake-up call.
This case reminds us again that not every person who stands on the pulpit is truly holy. Titles and popularity do not always reflect someone’s true character. We must protect our children and always speak up against any form of abuse, no matter who is involved.
Now, here is a very important question for you:
Do you think powerful people in society should be treated differently when they commit crimes? Or should they face the same punishment as every other person?
