A 25-year-old new mother has shared a heartbreaking story of family conflict that has left her feeling trapped and helpless just three months after giving birth.
In an anonymous post, the young woman explained how her marriage came under fire shortly after she had a baby via C-section. She said her family, especially her mother, had tried to force her to terminate the pregnancy initially, but she and her 34-year-old husband insisted on keeping the baby.
“After giving birth, I went to stay with my mum for proper care, as agreed by both my husband and my mum,” she explained. But a simple request from her husband—to take the baby to the hospital for a jaundice check—sparked a major row.
“My husband asked me to use an Uber for the hospital visit, since he works Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm. But my mum got angry and called his elder sister to complain. She said my husband should come take us himself or send someone else.”
This led to heated exchanges between her mother and sister-in-law, which ended with both sides blocking each other on social media. Her husband then blocked her mother too.
The mother-in-law’s anger only grew. “She told me not to continue marrying my husband and that a better man would come along. She even threatened to make sure we never have peace if I go back to him,” the young woman said, her voice filled with pain.
Her husband has continued to provide for her and their daughter, but the family feud has stopped them from dedicating their baby in church and has left the young mother in emotional turmoil.
“I love my husband, and he loves me too,” she said. “But my mum’s threats are scaring me. I told her to please let’s move on, even for my daughter’s sake, but she said she doesn’t care.”
