His light-hearted comments come from a personal place—his daughter, June Ruto, is married to Dr. Alexander Ezenagu, a Nigerian lecturer. The president’s remarks were not meant to offend but to share a fun moment, especially since he’s connected to Nigerians through family.
The wedding guests, including Nigerians, enjoyed the banter, with Ruto adding, “I wanted to see these Nigerians who have come to harass my friend!” He also checked if the guests had “done the needful,” keeping the mood cheerful.
