A 24-year-old woman is seeking help after enduring six abortions during her four-year relationship with a 34-year-old man who claims he is “still hustling” and not ready to settle down.
The young woman, who chose to remain anonymous, shared her story in an emotional message, revealing that despite being introduced to her boyfriend’s family just six months into their relationship, he has yet to formally pay her bride price or show any commitment towards marriage.
According to the woman, her boyfriend always convinces her to terminate each pregnancy, promising marriage in the future but insisting he is not ready yet. She said, “I’ve been dating this guy for four years now. It happens that in these four years, I’ve mistakenly gotten pregnant and have had six abortions for him because he keeps begging that he isn’t ready yet and he’s still trying to hustle. Though it’s something I don’t understand because he has his own place, a comfortable apartment.”

She added, “He says he’ll marry me but it’s just too much with the abortions. He hasn’t paid anything on my head but he claims he loves me very much. Please advise me on this one because I do really love the guy and I want that he should marry me. The last abortion almost killed me.”
What has kept her hopeful all this time, she explained, was that six months into their relationship three years ago, the man introduced her to his family. “That’s what makes me understand that he’s being serious with me and makes me trust him,” she said.

The adviser added, “She deserves a partner who respects her body, her dreams and her future. She should have an honest conversation with him about what she wants in life, and if he continues to delay, she needs to decide if she’s willing to keep waiting.”
