The family and friends of Salome Eleojo Adaidu, the young lady allegedly killed by gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi, have debunked claims that she was his girlfriend. According to them, Salome was kidnapped by Timileyin under false pretences, which led to her tragic death.
Contrary to viral reports, a Facebook user named Alli Stephen clarified that Salome was not Timileyin's girlfriend, as widely speculated. He described her as a kind and reserved individual.
How the Incident Happened
Alli explained that on Sunday, 12 January 2025, Salome left her home at 11 a.m. in Karu, Nasarawa State, to visit a friend. Unfortunately, she entered the wrong tricycle (commonly called Keke), which led her to Timileyin.
He recounted how he had spoken to Salome’s older sister at 2 p.m. and later at 6 p.m. that same day. By evening, the sister called back with the devastating news that Salome was dead.
The alleged killer, Timileyin Ajayi, was caught when the motorcycle rider transporting him noticed blood dripping from the bag he was carrying and raised the alarm.
Not Timileyin’s Girlfriend
Abby Simon, another Facebook user and friend of Salome's family, also refuted claims that Salome had any romantic relationship with Timileyin. She stated that the gospel singer abducted Salome and gruesomely murdered her before being apprehended by the police.
Abby described Salome as a quiet and well-behaved person who only left home when necessary. She added that the family is devastated, and this is an ordeal no family should endure.
