A well-known lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who works with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is helping a young man from Ebonyi State. The young man’s name is Sampson Ogochukwu. He says he didn’t commit the crime he was punished for, but he has been sentenced to death by a court in Lagos.
What Happened?
In 2017, Sampson moved to Lagos from Onitsha. A friend named Chuks Viviana Okonkwo helped him get a job as a security guard in Lekki. Sampson trusted Chuks, but things went wrong when Chuks betrayed him.
One day, Chuks and four other men came to Sampson’s workplace. They tied him up and forced him to help them rob his employer. They stole a car and other valuable things. After the robbery, they put Sampson in the boot of the car. Later, they gave him ₦100,000 and told him to leave Lagos.
Sampson did not run away. Instead, he went back to tell his boss what happened. But instead of helping him, the police arrested Sampson. They said he was the one who planned the robbery.
The most painful part is that the real robbers were later caught, but they were set free by the court. Now, Sampson has been left to suffer alone, even though he says he did nothing wrong.
How Is Ifeanyi Ejiofor Helping?
Many people cried out for help when they heard Sampson’s story. Lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor heard about it and decided to help. He is not charging any money for the case. Ejiofor and his team are working hard to find the court records that show how Sampson was sentenced to death.
Ejiofor said that everyone deserves a lawyer, especially in serious cases like this. But Sampson did not have a lawyer during his trial, which is very unfair. Ejiofor’s team is now gathering all the details to appeal the court’s decision.
What Will Happen Next?
Ejiofor’s team will:
1. Read all the court papers to understand what happened during the trial.
2. Look at what the witnesses said.
3. Check if the judge made the right decision or any mistakes.
After this, they will go back to court to fight for Sampson. Ejiofor has promised to do everything possible to make sure the truth comes out.
we believe that justice should be for everyone. Sampson’s story is sad, but it also shows the need for fairness in our courts. No one should be punished for a crime they didn’t commit.
We support Ejiofor’s work and hope this case will remind everyone how important it is to stand for the truth. If you believe in justice, let’s keep praying and supporting efforts to save Sampson.
Let’s be patient while the lawyers do their work. Share this story with others so that more people will know about Sampson’s case. Together, we can hope for a better outcome.
Justice must win!
