Nigerian activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, is calling out Hajia Fatima Lau, wife of Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau of Taraba North, after reports that she ordered police to arrest skitmaker Nafiu Hassan.
The issue started when Hassan posted a skit showing how bad the roads are in their district, highlighting the dangers these roads pose for local residents.
Reports say that when Mrs. Lau saw Hassan last Wednesday, she called police from the GRA Division in Jalingo, accusing him of “cyberstalking” and “criminal character assassination” because of his video.
This led Verydarkman to post a video online condemning Mrs. Lau’s actions. He stated that, as the senator’s wife, she doesn’t have the authority to take action against a citizen for speaking out. He accused her of using her husband’s power to silence people who are sharing important issues.
In his video, Verydarkman also criticized the police for quickly responding to powerful people. He demanded that the skitmaker be released, promising to continue speaking out against the injustice if it is not addressed.
