Christiannah Idowu was tragically declared missing on August 19, 2024. Her abductors used her own WhatsApp account to contact her parents and demand a ransom of ₦1.5 million.
Her parents quickly raised ₦350,000 and transferred it to a betting account provided by the kidnappers.
The situation took a darker turn after August 22, 2024, when communication between the abductors and the family ceased. However, investigations began and soon linked the crime to a man who was reportedly a close friend of Christiannah.
The suspect, identified through his betting and bank accounts, withdrew money from Christiannah’s account and was eventually tracked to his family home in Ikorodu by law enforcement.
The suspect was arrested, and during the interrogation, evidence such as the victim's phone and financial transactions were uncovered. Shockingly, the suspect confessed to killing Christiannah and burying her in his compound.
Disturbingly, there were also reports that his ex-girlfriend and biological sister had similarly died under suspicious circumstances in previous years.
This case is still under investigation, and more updates are expected to be released.
