The State Security Service (SSS) has officially denied taking part in the reported raid on the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) headquarters.
Amid the ongoing 'End Bad Governance' protests, the NLC claimed that armed security personnel had stormed their headquarters. The NLC called this an assault and demanded immediate action from the authorities.
The NLC had earlier sounded the alarm during the protests, stating that their headquarters was invaded by uniformed and plainclothes security agents. The NLC speculated that some of these agents could have been from the SSS.
The NLC also alleged that the security forces broke into a part of the building, searched through books in the bookshop, and took materials they claimed were used to incite the ongoing protests.
After this alarming event, the NLC demanded that the security personnel immediately withdraw from the Labour House.
The SSS responded on its official X handle, denying any involvement in the operation at the NLC office in Abuja.
As reported by Premium Times, the police have not yet commented on the raid.
