The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, affirmed his commitment to monitoring funds allocated in government budgets during a Road Walk in Abuja commemorating the 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day.
Olukoyede declared the EFCC's determination to confront those involved in embezzlement and corruption, emphasizing the need to eliminate financial malpractices for the advancement of growth and development in Nigeria.
He asserted, "We are determined to give sleepless nights to those misappropriating public funds, closing avenues for corruption, and sealing loopholes. As a new budget era begins, we have informed financial gatekeepers that every released fund will be meticulously tracked."
In addition, Olukoyede expressed eagerness to collaborate with the international community to recover stolen funds stashed abroad, stating, "Those harboring looted funds overseas are more corrupt than us. We will pursue them, reclaim our assets, and utilize them for our systemic development."
Encouraging support for the government, Olukoyede assured Nigerians of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to fostering businesses and public welfare.
