President Bola Tinubu has expressed Nigeria's gratitude to France for returning $150 million that was taken by former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha.
In a statement shared by Ajuri Ngelale, the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, President Tinubu conveyed his appreciation to France for the return of the Abacha loot. He commended their effective cooperation in this matter and assured that the funds would be used wisely to achieve Nigeria's development goals.
Catherine Colonna, the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, delivered the news to President Tinubu. She acknowledged that the repatriation had been long overdue but expressed satisfaction that justice was being served in the end. President Emmanuel Macron of France shares this sentiment.
